OUR FOOD - FOREST TO FORK:
Kick off your wellies, sink into one of our leather chairs and eat the best of the great English countryside. A true country dining pub, we pride ourselves on creating menus from the freshest local produce sourced directly from the woodlands, farms and country estates that surround us and we’re very happy to have been awarded 1 AA Rosette and ‘Best Pub’ in 2015 in the coveted GQ Food & Drink awards for our efforts.
All of our game and fish is brought to us by our local suppliers and friends – from our exquisite venison, straight from the nearby estates such as nearby Goodwood and prepared on site, to the Chilgrove wood pigeons, rabbits and trout, plucked from nearby rivers and fields that morning. Goodwood cheeses often appear regularly on our menus. Whatever you try, you can be sure that every dish we prepare has its roots in the beautiful South Downs.
Please note that as we make all our dishes using only the freshest seasonal produce, our menus change frequently and the menus displayed on our website are samples.
A pub at heart
As well as a passion for high quality, we are a community pub devoted to offering comfort to all. Whether you’re looking for a pampering countryside getaway or just a pint of fine ale after walking the dog, we want you to make yourself at home. Cosy up in The Snug, unwind with a coffee and paper in The Sanctuary or join us at the bar for a drink. We look forward to giving you a warm welcome.
Wine for every occasion
When it comes to wine, we don’t do average. Our cellar is brimming with fabulous wines by the bottle or by the glass. Pair your evening with one of our delicious house bottles or for something special, ask to see The Red Book, our handpicked selection of the world’s finest wines. From opulent burgundies to delicate chardonnays, there is something for every palate to enjoy.
