Bright Victorian country inn offering real ales, a range of burgers and sausages, plus B&B rooms.
The Rising Sun is a classic country pub situated in the picturesque village of Upper Beeding (near Steyning).
The pub has a long history stretching back to the first use of the building as a brewery in 1857. Today the pub sits on the edge of the South Downs National Park, an area popular with walkers, cyclists and equestrians. The pub is centrally situated for Brighton, Worthing and Horsham; perfect for exploring West Sussex.
Whether you are visiting for a walk, a bike ride or an adventure you can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome, delicious meals made from locally sourced ingredients and an excellent selection of real ales on tap.
We run a fantastic pub quiz on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. The whole pub is filled to the rafters so arrive early to avoid disappointment. First prize is a meal for 2 upto the price of £20. Second prize is a bottle of wine and because we don't believe in losers, last prize is a box of chocolates.
We believe in serving only delicious, quality, seasonal food to our customers. That's why we buy from local producers of fruit, vegetables and meat. It's the local touch that makes our food special.
Speaking of special! Don't forget to have a look at our specials board. Our specials vary mid-week and will always offer you something different.
You can download or view a copy of our menu by clicking on the link on the right.
We do accept table bookings. If you would like to book a table, please contact us on the number on the right.
You can't have a pub without beer!
We have the following beers on tap: Harvey's Sussex Best and Fuller's London Pride.
Each week we have one guest ale on tap. Our guest ales have included HSB, Ringwood 49er, Hobgoblin and Director's. Ask the Landlord for a list of other guest ales if you'd like to find out more. Even better, why not pop in and see what's on tap today!
