Beatiful Village Location

Set upon the beautiful pond of Rottindean, The Plough Inn really is at the heart of the pretty seaside village.  There is plenty to do and see in Rottingdean with its beach and seafront, picturesque village green, gardens and pond as well as the famous windmill. There is also a thriving High Street with many new businesses, shops and cafes, restaurants and pubs.

For more information on our Beautiful setting visit the Rottingdean Village website here...

Extensive drinks selection

As a traditional village pub we are pleased to boast a wide selection of Cask Ales, Lagers, Ciders and Wines.

We keep the local favourite, Harvey's Best Bitter, on as a permanent but change our other guest casks on a frequent basis.  The wine list, which can be seen on the link below, is pretty robust and chosen to compliment the food on offer and the local customer base.

Our food:

Here at he Plough Inn we love our food and we want you to love it too!  Using locally sourced ingredients we create all sorts of dishes from traditional to the contemporary.

Recently we've made quite a few changes including a new Head Chef - Joel Cunliffe - who was perviosuly Head Chef of the group's town centre pub The Cricketers.  Joel's aim is to build upon our existing (great!) reputation and raise it another level by introducing a more modern take on pub food.

Our menu still incorporates plenty of pub classics and lighter dishes that are certainly at home within the surroundings of our quaint village pub, however there is now a increased focus on higher standard main courses that will whet the apetite of those customers looking for something a bit more special.  We hope you enjoy our new menu!

Food is served:

Monday - Friday: 12-3pm / 6-9pm
Saturday: 12-9pm
Sunday:  12-7pm

Function Room available for hire

Our cosy first floor function room is available to host any occasion from meetings to birthday parties.  With its own bar and facilities it is self-contained to allow privacy for your event.  Enjoy uninterrupted views of the idyllic Rottindean pond, green and Kipling house.

Our close proximity to St Margarets and Our Lady of Lourdes churches makes us the ideal venue for christenings, baptisms, wedding receptions and funeral wakes.

The room has a capacity of 50 people standing and 30 people seated.  We offer bespoke packages for each function including amazing BUFFET selections.  See our Buffet Menu here...

Please contact us to organise your function or for any other queries you may have.
