Description:

With an award winning selection of over 90 different rums, 4 hand-drawn real ales that frequently alternate and are as locally sourced as possible, an ever changing fridge of craft beer and the best Thai food in town, this pub brings the classic British boozer and spins it on its head.

Its comfortable rustic surroundings make it a joy to visit either for lunch or dinner, with a host of local DJs playing mainly vinyl and the genres ranging from Soul, funk and disco to psych rock, blues and Motown.  It is at night when this pub comes to life, especially in the colder months when the fire is roaring.

We host DJs every Friday and Saturday and once monthly we have live music on a Sunday. Please check out our facebook page for current listings

Also in the winter months, is the famous Saint James Rum Club where the big hitters in the rum industry come once or twice monthly and give a free masterclass and samples of their entire range - FOR FREE. Please also check the Facebook page for the next event.

It is also the original home of Tuaca liqueur, which is now a Brighton favourite in most bars. Imported to the Saint James in the nineties it can now be found adorning the back bar of most Brighton taverns and beyond.

Don’t take our word for it, head over to our tripadvisor page to see all the positive reviews we have collected over the years.
